How does the subscription work?

The monthly cost of a standard Treat Trunk for subscribers is £35.99 per Trunk. The price of a Treat Trunk Mini is £19.99 per month.
Select your subscription plan and make payment for your first box.
Treat Trunk Monthly box – 1 box per month so 12 boxes per year.
Treat Trunk Mini Monthly Box – 1 Mini box every month.
Then every month, we take payment on the same day of the month you signed up.
Around the 1st of the following month we will post out your Trunk.
So if you sign up any time in December you will receive January’s box early January.

Do you sell one off/gift boxes?

We do indeedy! Our one off gift boxes are priced at £23.99 and £39.99 but subscribers get 10% off (check your junk folder if you haven’t received this code!) You have the option to have your box gift-wrapped with a short message or names for personalisation.

What’s in my Trunk?

A standard Trunk contains 20-25 natural, healthy, real food snacks which are vegan friendly, sugar sensible and completely junk free.  Some are chosen more with children in mind and some more aimed at parents but most of the snacks will be suitable for the whole family.

A Treat Trunk Mini contains 10-15 healthy, family friendly snacks and as the name suggests is just a smaller version of the standard Trunk.

We keep the contents of each box a secret for those that like to be surprised but if you’d prefer to make an informed purchase please email [email protected] and if we have them organised yet, we’ll send you the list of products going into the next month’s box.

What is your delivery policy?

We currently only deliver within the UK due to high postage costs.  Please contact us if you would REALLY like a Treat Trunk delivered abroad and we can let you know postage costs.

All subscriptions and one off purchases being delivered within the UK are inclusive of postage.  Delivery should take 3-5 working days from date of posting but often arrive the next day.  Please contact us if your Trunk still hasn’t arrived by the 15thof the month for a subscription or 11 days of ordering if a one off box. Remember – if subscribing – your first box won’t arrive until the following month.

In stock one off/gift boxes will be shipped Royal Mail second class delivery within 2 days of ordering. Contact us if you need it sooner. Subscriptions will be posted the first week of each month.

Can I cancel, pause or switch my subscription?

Yes! Just login to your account HERE

Any alterations you make to your account are instant but if we have already collected payment for that month’s box then your subscription will be cancelled from the following month. 

What’s your return policy?

Our goal at Treat Trunk is happiness so if you’re not happy with your Trunk, simply post it back to us within 14 days of receipt with all snacks unopened and we will either send you a new Trunk or refund you in full.  You will pay the return postage unless the problem is our fault in which case we will pay the return postage.  If there is a problem with any of the snacks, please contact us at [email protected] Refunds take 5-10 days to clear in your account.

Why do you include snacks aimed specifically at parents?

We strongly believe the wellbeing of parents is integral to the happiness of a family and therefore your children. Parents are often an afterthought and that seems odd knowing how ridiculously hard parenting can be.  

Mothers especially experience an increase in hormonal fluctuations once becoming pregnant but the goal becomes to take care of the child and self-care takes a backseat. 

We totally understand this, which is why we seek out products with health and wellbeing benefits to support those parents – whether it’s through boosting energy naturally, increasing protein and healthy fats, supporting hormone balance, helping you relax or just a little guilt free treat.

What is sugar sensible?

Sugar Sensible is the term we like to use for applying common sense to nutrition and overall wellbeing and using good judgement.  

We first intended to make the boxes refined sugar free but there is debate on what refined means (some people consider coconut sugar to be refined) and also we were rejecting very healthy snacks due to a bit of refined cane sugar.  Cane sugar itself is a natural ingredient and when consumed in its raw state has a much lower GI than refined cane sugar as well as some beneficial nutrients.We discovered many excellent snacks suitable for families that contained sugar but in a much lower amount than regular sweets and also with balanced macros (fats and/or proteins alongside the carbs), which helps stabilise your blood sugar and prevent spiking.

We take a holistic approach to health in that we consider the overall health of a product when all the ingredients are taken into consideration and that meant that some products with a small amount of refined sugar could be considered healthier than others with a higher, unrefined sugar content.

We want to be able to offer as many snacks with a high percentage of whole foods you can pronounce as possible and since there is a lot of debate in the world of nutrition we try to take a practical approach.

Part of our ethos is to make healthy eating fun for children and the benefits of this far outweigh adherance to some arbitrary rigid guidelines.

If you don’t agree or this doesn’t suit you – please let us know, we are very keen on feedback as it will help shape future boxes.  At some point we will have diet specific boxes like paleo, vegan, nut free etc.  We may also be able to replace some of the items in your box if you let us know of your preferences. 

Do you Cater for Allergies?

 If you contact us with your requirements we can do our best to cater for you but you will be responsible for checking the ingredients on each packaged item including ‘may contains’ info as we cannot guarantee all snacks are 100% free of the allergen.

What if we don’t like something you’ve included in our box?

Please let us know! We take feedback very seriously and use it to shape the direction of our business.

What’s your ethical policy?

We learn about each company we work with to ensure their ethics are in line with our own. 

Many of the companies we work with use biodegradable and/or recyclable packaging but unfortunately not all can at the moment. The packaging technology just isn’t quite there yet and many suppliers found their products rotting on shop shelves where the packaging had degraded. 

We also think there need to be affordable healthy snacks on the market so that everyone has access to them and this means using cheaper, plastic packaging to keep the food fresh.

Our boxes are recyclable.  Any tissue paper is acid free, made from 100% recycled fibres and 100% recyclable. Finally, the shredded packing paper we use is made from 100% recycled fibres and is 100% recyclable. We have also started using wood wool which is biodegradeable.

We will regularly share recipes for batch making your own healthy snacks on our blog, helping to reduce packaging by making snacks at home.  We will also share activities you can do with the packaging to extend its life.

Part of our goal as a company is to increase our connection to each other, to the rest of the world and to the earth.  Raising children can be an incredibly lonely time for parents and we have lost a lot of the benefits of having a surrounding community once enjoyed as part of a tribe.
