March is spring month – the clocks go forward, the evenings stretch out and everyone starts planning walks they won’t take. So this box was built for getting back outside: a couple of bigger bags for passing round, plenty of chilli and lime, three flapjacks for the coat pocket, and two drinks that aren’t tea. Almost every one of the 21 snacks is plant-based, and most are gluten-free too. Here’s what was inside 🌱
Our mini snack boxes contain a selection of items from the full size box.
Savoury
Human Nature Pea Rings – Caramelised Onion (50g)
What it is: Crunchy rings made from pea flour, seasoned with caramelised onion, paprika and a blend of spices, in a 50g bag.
Why we picked it: A crisp-shaped snack that is mostly pea, so you get fibre and a bit of protein along with the onion hit.
Dietary: Vegan. May contain gluten and milk.
Human Nature Lentil Sticks – Hot Jalapeño & Lime (50g)
What it is: Hot lentil sticks made from red lentils with onion, lemon, spices and real jalapeños, in a 50g bag.
Why we picked it: Properly hot, which we like, and the lime stops the chilli from being the only thing you can taste.
Dietary: Vegan. May contain gluten and milk.
Simply Roasted Low Fat Crisps – Sea Salt & Cider Vinegar (21.5g)
What it is: Thick-sliced potato crisps roasted rather than fried, seasoned with sea salt, Suffolk cider vinegar and sherry vinegar powder.
Why we picked it: Under 100 calories a bag with half the fat and salt of a standard crisp, and the vinegar still makes your eyes water.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free.
Long Chips – Thai Sweet Chilli (75g) ★ sharing bag
What it is: Extra-long baked chips made from potato flakes and wheat semolina, seasoned with a sweet chilli blend of sugar, onion and ginger.
Why we picked it: Baked not fried and lower in fat than crisps, and at 75g the bag was built for handing round the office.
Dietary: Vegetarian. Contains gluten; may contain milk and mustard.
Brave Superfood Roasted Peas – Paprika and Chilli (35g)
What it is: Whole peas roasted until crunchy and seasoned with paprika and chilli, in a 35g bag.
Why we picked it: More protein and fibre than a crisp, and the paprika-chilli seasoning has more warmth than heat.
Dietary: Vegan, no gluten-containing ingredients.
Gourmet Crunch Crisps – Louisiana BBQ (18g)
What it is: Popped cassava crisps made from cassava and rapeseed oil with a Louisiana-style barbecue seasoning, in an 18g bag.
Why we picked it: Less than 100 calories a bag and popped rather than fried, so the barbecue flavour comes without the grease.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free.
Huligan Pretzel Crush – Honey Mustard (65g) ★ sharing bag
What it is: Broken sourdough pretzel pieces baked with wheat flour and coated in a sweet, tangy honey mustard glaze, in a 65g bag.
Why we picked it: Pretzel pieces catch more seasoning than whole pretzels, and the honey mustard is sharp enough to be worth the crumbs.
Dietary: Vegetarian (contains milk and honey). Contains gluten and mustard; may contain sesame and soya.
Mr Filbert’s Peanuts – Chilli and Lime (40g)
What it is: Hot-air roasted peanuts, 92.5% of the bag, tossed in chilli, lime and lemon oils, ginger and cumin.
Why we picked it: Roasted rather than fried, and the lime cuts through the chilli so the heat builds without taking over.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free. Contains peanuts; may contain tree nuts.
The Savourists Crunchits – Fiery Chilli (25g)
What it is: Crunchy clusters of edamame, black beans, oats, rice and wheat, coated in a Thai chilli seasoning of paprika, garlic and cayenne.
Why we picked it: High in protein and fibre, under 100 calories a bag, and the word fiery on the pack is not an exaggeration.
Dietary: Vegan. Contains gluten and soya.
Eat Real Hummus Chips – Tomato & Basil (22g)
What it is: Crunchy chips made from 25% chickpea flour with potato starch and rice flour, seasoned with tomato powder, basil and parsley.

Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free.
Proper Lentil Chips – Prawn Cocktail (31g)
What it is: Lentil chips made from 29% lentil flour with potato starch and corn flour, seasoned with tomato, onion, garlic and black pepper.

Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free. May contain soya.
Sweet
Deliciously Ella Chocolate Topped Oat Bar – Raisin (50g)
What it is: A soft-baked bar of 40% gluten-free oats and raisins, sweetened with brown rice and date syrup and topped with dark chocolate.
Why we picked it: Dark chocolate on oats is an old trick, but this one keeps the ingredients list short and the sugars unrefined.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free. May contain peanuts and tree nuts.
Nick’s Protein Wafer – Orange (40g)
What it is: A crunchy wafer bar filled with an orange-flavoured milk protein layer and coated in chocolate, sweetened with erythritol instead of sugar.
Why we picked it: Around 25% protein and no added sugar, for anyone who wants a chocolate wafer at 4pm without the crash afterwards.
Dietary: Vegetarian (contains milk), gluten-free. Contains soya; may contain peanuts and tree nuts.
Traybakes Individual Bars – Vegan Flapjack
What it is: A classic flapjack of 40% jumbo oats bound with inverted sugar syrup, brown sugar and a plant-based margarine, in a single bar.
Why we picked it: Sometimes you just want an ordinary flapjack, and this is that: sweet, chewy, made without dairy, and no nut warnings.
Dietary: Vegan. Contains gluten.
Oatopia Oat Bake – Peanut Butter (60g) ★ sharing bag
What it is: A soft 60g oat bake made with a plant-based spread and 8% peanut butter, topped with roasted salted peanuts.
Why we picked it: It won a Great Taste award, and the salted peanuts on top stop the sweetness having things all its own way.
Dietary: Vegan. Contains peanuts and gluten; may contain tree nuts, eggs, sesame, soya, milk and sulphur dioxide.
Rare Popcorn – Sweet & Salt (27g)
What it is: Small-batch British popcorn made from 58% popped wholegrain corn with sugar, rapeseed oil and sea salt, in a 27g bag.
Why we picked it: Sweet and salty in the same mouthful, wholegrain and high in fibre, with no palm oil or artificial anything.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free. May contain nuts, sesame, soya, mustard and celery.
Trek Protein Flapjack – Biscoff (50g)
What it is: An oat flapjack with a caramelised Biscoff biscuit topping and soya protein crispies, made with rice syrup and no dairy.
Why we picked it: 9g of plant protein and the only flapjack officially allowed to call itself Biscoff, which settles a few arguments.
Dietary: Vegan. Contains gluten and soya; may contain peanuts, tree nuts and milk.
Raise Nut & Seed Clusters – Raspberry (35g)
What it is: Clusters of roasted almonds, pecans and cashews with toasted coconut, crisp rice and freeze-dried raspberry powder, in a 35g pack.
Why we picked it: Barely 5g of sugar a pack and high in fibre, and the raspberry is sharp enough to stop the coconut taking over.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free. Contains tree nuts.
Tribe Wildfarmed Flapjack – Apple & Raspberry (50g)
What it is: A flapjack made with regeneratively farmed Wildfarmed oats, rice syrup and date paste, with dried apple and freeze-dried raspberry pieces.

Dietary: Vegan. Contains gluten; may contain peanuts, tree nuts, soya and milk.

Pip Organic Apple Fizz (250ml)
What it is: A sparkling apple drink made from 60% pressed organic apples and 40% sparkling water, in a 250ml can.

Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free.
VitHit Vitamin Water – Sparkling Pink Grapefruit & Lime (330ml)
What it is: A lightly sparkling vitamin water flavoured with pink grapefruit, lime and a splash of fruit juice, coloured with black carrot.
Why we picked it: Low in calories and a little bitter in a good way, for the afternoon when tea has stopped working.
Dietary: Vegan, gluten-free.
Nut note: This month the Mr Filbert’s peanuts, Oatopia Peanut Butter Oat Bake and Raise Raspberry clusters contain nuts or peanuts, and several others (the Deliciously Ella oat bar, Nick’s wafer, Rare Popcorn and the Trek and Tribe flapjacks) carry a “may contain nuts” warning. If you need a nut-free box, just reply to your order email and we’ll build one for you.
